Is Your Business On Life Support? Here’s How To Revive It…

lisastoops.com I’ve found that if you are NOT getting traction in your business it’s because of a few key reasons.

1. You are NOT in alignment with what you are offering. So the energy is not there and your audience can pick up on that. If you want to revive the energy…dig deeper and find that thing that REALLY LIGHTS you up. NOT what you think you should or shouldn’t be doing and all those crazy thoughts we think.

2. You are NOT targeting or attracting the right people. Who do you really want to work with? I’ve struggled with this a lot over the years. At first you think you want to work with anyone…until you start working with the wrong type of people. Decide exactly who you want to work with and attract them while repelling others.

3. You are making the wrong offers. Maybe you are attracting your idea
l clients, but if you are not making the sales you want then you might just be offering the wrong thing to the right people. Get on the phone/Skype with your ideal clients and see what they really need help with. If you talk to 10 people and they all say the same thing then you are on to something. Create and offer that!

4. You don’t take enough of the right actions. You listen to every webinar, buy every course, and jump around from one idea to the next. These are NOT the right actions. There is a time for learning and a time for to take the right actions. Put your blinders on and CREATE your offer and get it out to market. Focus on marketing the offer until it’s making you money and don’t think about moving on to anything else until you are.

5. You are NOT consistent in your marketing strategy and efforts. You get excited about using one type of strategy for a couple of days and then you are off to the next strategy. You get zero momentum when you spread yourself too thin like this. The key is to focus on 1 or 2 strategies and do them consistently.

Have I just described you?

If you said YES then I’d love to help you get on the right path with my 90 minute power session. Clients are LOVING this service (and so am I)! Let’s get you back on track – fast! Learn more here.

Get The 411 On Periscoping For Business

FullSizeRender (10) I LOVE hosting webinars, so when I first found out about Periscope back in May, I was very curious.

I thought it was REALLY cool and a big step up from doing webinars because Periscope allows you to connect with your tribe in a very informal and real sorta way.

I started using it and then realized that anyone can join your ‘scope’. This led to me banning several sick-o’s who started saying nasty things in the chat box. Ugh. That actually turned me off, and I stopped experimenting with Periscope even though I knew it was going to be BIG and I liked the concept from the beginning.

I wondered if it was really worth it since anyone could join and not just your peeps, but then I realized you can ban people and you can let your tribe know when you’ll be broadcasting. Who cares about those few bad apples (trolls), right!?

So now I’m back in the game and have started experimenting with it. Follow me for daily scopes on practical biz and marketing tips @lisastoops!

I don’t know about other industries, but Periscoping for business is going to be huge (it already is).

Live broadcasting is changing the way we connect with our prospects and customers. The trend in online business keeps getting more and more personal.

People LOVE to look behind the scenes and want to get to know the person/people behind the brand. Instagram was awesome when it came out because you could use your phone to take pics and post them immediately. Now Periscope takes it all to another level with video.

There are other apps that do this but I love Periscope for business because it connects to Twitter. Facebook is currently testing live broadcasting and could possibly be huge too.

Video has always been the best way to get people online to know, like, and trust you faster. Now we have LIVE video where people can interact with you. SQUEEEE so fun!

So if you are interested in growing a bigger tribe and connecting on a deeper level with them, then give Periscope a try!

What Is Periscope?

Periscope is an app you download onto your phone and use it to broadcast live from wherever you are in the world. Anyone can join your ‘scope’ and enter text into the chat box. Twitter acquired Periscope so it is connect to your Twitter handle. Learn more here. If you have a Twitter account it will be really quick and easy to set up.

What the heck are hearts?

You’ll notice hearts on the right part of your screen. Viewers can tap the screen and give you hearts to show their support. Those that have the most hearts, win. Just kidding – well maybe not – but I’m not sure if you get anything for hearts. If you know, please let me know in the comments below this post.

Chat boxes

You’ll notice chat boxes popping up and then fading out. Viewers can chat with you so be sure to make it interactive!

Finding people on Periscope

You can do a search and find people you know on Periscope and click the follow icon.

12 Tips On How To Effectively Use Periscope In Your Biz

Note: I’ll be updating this post as I continue to learn about how to effectively use it in my biz.

  1. Get your tribe to follow you on Periscope. Let people know in your email, blog, and on social media where to follow you and when you’ll be broadcasting.
  2. Broadcast on a regular basis (maybe even at a regular time of day) so your tribe can tune in easily.
  3. Tell people to share your ‘Scope’ while you are live (swiping the screen left on iPhone and up on Android).
  4. Periscope saves your broadcasts for 24 hours, but you can enable auto save (do this in the settings before broadcasting for the first time) so that the broadcast will save to your phone (this is important to do especially if you are doing training’s and want to save the broadcast to send out to your tribe later).
  5. What will you talk about? This can be the most intimating thing…because you are broadcasting LIVE! Plan out your content and when you’ll scope ahead of time!
  6. Get nasty comments in the chat box? Ban them when you see the comment! Swipe or click on the comment and you can ban the user.
  7. Because anyone from around the world can tune in, let people know who you are and what you do. Don’t forget to drop links letting people know where they can find you online.
  8. Be strategic. What is your main goal right now? If you are in the middle of a launch – make sure people know where to find what you’re selling. If you want people to opt-in to your freebie, let them know.
  9. Interact and engage with the people that tune into your scope.
  10. Repurpose your scopes! If you did a mini training, turn it into an opt-in that people have to sign up for (great for 7-10 day challenges). Get your scope transcribed and put it on your blog and send it out to your email list.
  11. To build your tribe even more, promote your scopes just like you would promote anything.
  12. Get a phone tripod and mic for even better viewing pleasure! 🙂

Finally I’d love to hear from you! Are you using Periscope? What tips do you have that will make scoping more easy and fun?

Can’t wait to see you out there scopin’!

Do This Before You Launch Your Online Course

Don't Let This Happen To You So you decided to create an online course…Congrats! It’s exciting to create something that can impact many people and give you a nice income boost.

What Today I wanted to give you some info that will help you prior to launching your course/program/service. Because after launching you don’t want to look like the chick in the photo!

I want to see you successful right away and this will help you!

I’ve learned that there are three major things you should be doing prior to launching your course (you can’t hide out and create your course and then expect to have lots of people buying your course).

Here are 3 Simple Steps To Avoid An Online Course Launch Disaster

1. Build your list first! You want to create a marketplace for your new course. Set up a new email list just for those who are interested in your course topic and giveaway something that will help them get started on your topic now while they wait for your course. Build your list and be in touch with them every few days while you are creating your course. Let them know of your plans to launch and when you will launch. Keep them interested!

2. Create a free Facebook group where they can interact with you and others prior to the launch of your course.  This will help you position yourself as an expert and give your prospects another way to interact with you. Facebook groups can be a lot of work, but in my experience having your own group is key to getting more sales in general!

3. Create a video or blog post that is related to the topic of your course/program. Again this will help prime people and get them ready for your course/program. You can also test your course idea out this way. Pay attention to the feedback and comments you get!

RUN Facebook ads to build your list, FB group, and to your blog or vlog post. Do these thing prior to launching your course and you’ll see more success. Pinky swear!

How To Get More Online Course or Program Sales

1 So you’ve created and launched your online course, but you’re not seeing the type of sales that you thought you would. I totally know how that feels. It can be really deflating!

But don’t despair!

There are a few tweaks you can make to increase your sales.

Here are five questions to ask yourself plus action steps to take…

1. Does your course solve a problem? First, you might have to go back and tweak your course to make sure it’s what your ideal customers want.

After taking the course does your customer get a result they can
put their finger on. If it just makes them feel good then you might have a problem on your hands.

Action Step: Be sure you are solving a real problem that your ideal customer wants to pay to get rid of. If necessary, tweak your course by turning it into a How To (step by step) course.

2. Have you built enough trust into the sales process?

Trust is so important in business and even more so online. People have to know who you are, how you can help them, and they have to feel confident that you CAN help them. They need to trust you.

The BEST way I know how to do this (quickly) is to create a webinar to help you sell your course.

Action Step: How can you establish more credibility?

3. Are you communicating clearly enough on your sales page?

Your sales page should clearly communicate the value your course or program has. It should answer any objections your ideal student may have. Always use words that your ideal student would use and not technical jargon.

Investigate: Do you have these necessary sales page elements?

  • Strong headline that captures attention (sub-headline?)
  • Benefits NOT features of the course/program
  • Awesome Testimonials
  • Who you are (and why they should pay attention)

4. Do you have enough traffic coming to your sales page?

Traffic is the life-line of your online business. You must have a good and reliable source of getting targeted traffic to all of your offers. Where is your traffic coming from?  Find something that works for you and stick with it. I love and use paid advertising like Facebook Ads because it’s an easy way to get targeted traffic.

Visitors * Conversion Rate = Sales

Have you ever thought like Janie before? Janie launches her course over the period of a week and is bummed that she only gets 3 sales. She wonders why. After looking at her traffic stats it shows only 50 people have visited her sale page. She did above the industry average and a great job! Pay attention to your numbers. Getting sales is a numbers game. If you want to make 100 sales and your conversion rate is 3% then you need to get around 3400 people to visit your sales page! Note: if you have a great offer and targeted traffic you will get a much higher conversion rate and will not need as much traffic.

Action Step: Find out how you can get more traffic to your sales page.

5. Are you following up consistently with prospects?

The SALE is in the follow up. You must have a way to follow up with your prospects. This means that you should be building your list so you can easily follow up with people who are interested in your course or program.

Make sure you send people to a freebie so you can capture the lead. From there you can follow up with them.

Action Step: Take a good look at your follow up plan. Would you buy from you?

An email follow up plan example:

Email 1: Let’s them know where they can get their freebie.
Email 2: Check in to see if they have any question (add story or valuable info)
Email 3: Tell a story relating to your course (sales email)
Email 4: How your course has helped someone + special offer
Email 5: Address any objections
Email 6: Last chance to grab special offer

There you have it! Five things you can go tweak right now so you can bring in more sales! You can download the PDF so you remember the steps here!
