So now that you have created your freebie it’s time to set up your freebie offer so that you can start collecting names and emails in exchange for the freebie. Here is what you’ll need:

  • Autoresponder – I use AWeber for my autoresponder and highly recommend it. Squeeze Page Example
  • A place to add your form (blog or squeeze page)
  • A download page
  • One week of follow up messages (3-5 emails)

Most autoresponders guide you through setting up a campaign. If you need help with AWeber, contact me and I’ll help you. Before you can add your form you’ll need to decide where you will put it. I would recommend putting it on a squeeze page – a page where the visitor has no other options but to sign up or leave the page.

There are MANY ways to create a squeeze page. It just depends on what type of platform you are using. If you use WordPress then you can easily create a full width page or you can use something like Instabuilder. You can make really good looking squeeze pages with Instabuilder (see pic to the right).  You could always use a basic HTML page as well. Adding your form is as simple as copying and pasting the code they give you.

In your first follow up message you want to make sure that your subscribers are taken to a page where they can download their free gift. I like to use a download page because you can always put an offer on the bottom half of the page. All you do is create a new page in WordPress (or use another HTML page), upload your freebie (in a zip file) to your hosting of choice (Amazon S3 or on your server) and add the link to the page.

Don’t forget to add a few messages to your follow up series. The follow up series should go out for about a week. During these 7 days it’s good to make an offer. You want to convert your subscribers into buyers as quickly as you can.

There are many ways to set it up. The point is to keep it simple and change things up as you go.
