How To Automate Your Sales Process So You Can Create A Freedom Lifestyle

I am all about creating a lifestyle business. A business that allows me to live life on my terms.

But I have to admit that for years I didn’t think much about lifestyle. I knew I wanted to build a business online, but that was about as far as I thought about living life on my terms.

Here is the problem with that – you end up creating another job for yourself and you make life harder than it has to be.

That’s exactly what I did when I created my first writing business. And that’s no good especially if you want to live a more freedom based lifestyle.

I said all that to say that if you want a freedom lifestyle then you must find ways to automate your business.

So does that mean exactly?

Just as the name says, automated, has to do with automation or doing things in a mechanical way or in a way that REMOVES a person having to do the thing. Automated income is leveraged income. Meaning you use tools to help move your process along automatically.

There are quite a few things that can be automated in your online business. Here are a few examples:

  • Social media posts
  • Emails
  • Digital downloads
  • Client scheduling

But the kind of automated system I’m talking about is really all about automating the SALES process. This means that you are growing your email list and sending people through your email funnel 24/7 to make more sales while you are doing other things.

If you took a few days off and didn’t do any work would you be able to continue your sales and biz growth? Or would everything stop during those times? 

This is exactly what will NOT happen if you had an automated system running in your business and you decide to take a vacation, get sick, or have to tend to the issues of life.

If you said everything would stop then you need to set this system up in your biz now!

How To Set Up An Automated Sales Process

The system is made up of three main parts: free offer, email sequence, and paid advertising.

Freebie Offer – This is the irresistible offer you make to woo them onto your email list. One of the quickest ways to establish the trust, know, like factor is to teach on a webinar. At the end of the webinar you can pitch your program or service.

Emails – Some people will not take action right away. That’s why you must have a compelling follow up sequence. This is a series of emails that go out over the first 10-14 days to help move your subscribers to make a buying decision.

Facebook Ads – Quickly find TARGETED people to get in front of. Your ideal clients are out there and they are most likely on Facebook.

Create your freebie offer and connect it to your autoresponder. Set up your emails to go out automatically over the next week or so. Set up Facebook ads that attract your ideal customers and monitor it so you are getting good click through rates and cost per conversion.

Once this is all set up correctly, the only thing you are doing is monitoring your Facebook ad campaigns. You can step away from your business and because of this system you will continue to build your list and make sales. Note: this only works well if you have a proven program/course/service that sells. If you don’t yet, then you’ll need to test your market to make sure it’s what they want prior to setting this up.

The best part is that you can set it up HOWEVER you want. You can use this system to engage your tribe, sell more programs/courses/service, sell a retreat, or launch something new!

Is Your Biz On Track?

We celebrated my son’s 12th birthday yesterday. I never noticed time flying by as much as I do now-a-days being a mom. It’s crazysauce!

Speaking of time…we only have a few short months left of 2015. Remember those goals you set waaaay back in January? Are you on track?

If not, it’s time to get back on track and finish the year strong.

So what do you need to do if you’re not on track?

Reverse engineer your biz.

Ask yourself:

What is the big goal I want to accomplish by Dec 31? 1,000 people on my list, 100K in revenue, etc.

Take that big goal and break it down.

For example:

If you want to earn $30K in the next 3.5 months then that’s $8,571 per month. What do you need to sell to reach that? Then you make a decision on what you will sell – higher priced packages, lower priced digital products, or a combination.

After that… look at how much traffic you need to get to your sales pages in order to make that much. Think about conversion rates. If you get 100 people to your sales page and 3 people buy – that’s a 3% conversion rate. Factoring in a lower conversion rate will give you some wiggle room.

So 1000 people at a 10% conversion rate of a $247 program = $24,700

You are almost to your goal!

Okay, but how do you actually do this? You create a sales funnel. You give away something that is highly relevant and related to your paid offer and you get people on your email list.

How do you get people on your email list? You increase your visibility by networking in Facebook groups, hosting webinars, getting on Periscope or Facebook Livestream, and/or use paid advertising.

Once people are on your email list you send them on a journey that helps them with their problem and also leads them to your ultimate solution (your paid offer).

You just keep tweaking this funnel until it produces what you are looking for. That’s it.

So get this up and running in your biz so you can hit those big goals you have for this year!

The Day I Bawled Like A Baby

Today I’ve got a little bit of an embarrassing story for you.

Have you ever felt like you were not reaching your full potential? Have you ever craved something more, but you weren’t sure what it was? Have you ever felt completely LOST and unsure which direction to take in business?

Um yeah me too.

And I said so in so many words to my coach/mentor this past weekend and bawled like a baby telling her too. UGH. Do you know what she cut me off to say?

“STOP. Just stop DOING. Do you really think it (business) can really work – EVER – work if what you do isn’t first based on who you ARE? It doesn’t matter what you do! It’s about who you ARE. It’s not about doing, it’s about BEING. Stop worrying about what to do. Start worrying about WHO you want to be AND then BE that person!”

Wow! What she said really impacted me in a way I really can’t describe. It’s like a light bulb went off – this has been the missing ingredient in my biz journey.

Why is this embarrassing? Well because I thought I should know better. I mean I’ve been DOING (there’s that word again) business online since 2008. Deep down I’ve kinda of known this (that’s why it’s important to hire people who are further down along on the journey to help you bring things to the surface).

But I know I’ve been holding myself back. I’ve been self-sabotaging my success. I’ve been hiding behind a mask of I’m-not-sure-what-I-really-want-to-do-or-who-I-want-to-serve mumbo jumbo.

Do you know what that is?

That is fear. That is not taking ownership. That is not being a leader.

Why is it mumbo jumbo? Because we all know DEEEEEP DOWN what we really want, but most of us are TOO SCARED to face it and go after it.

Many of us know we have a deeper message and purpose than what we show the world.

Your message is in you. It’s whatever you value and stand up for. It’s what you want people to know, understand, learn, etc. It’s how you want to live your life.

So even though I cried like a baby, my mentor gave me the precious gift of freedom. Freedom to just BE ME. Freedom to share with the world how I view things and what I stand for. I’m so thankful for that embarrassing moment!

My message is simple yet powerful (to me and others who it resonates with):

  • There is MUCH more to life than sitting in a cubicle working for someone else just to pay the bills
  • You can work on purpose with meaning and fulfillment every day
  • You can create your ideal/dream lifestyle

Basically, you are in charge of your life.

So what about you?

What is your message and are you expressing it every day?

You can’t fake it. It’s in you…it IS you. You can’t shut it out (or if you do, like I’ve done, it will keep you stuck).

I’ve just learned this and now I’m sharing it with you…EVERYTHING you want is wrapped up in YOU…inside that message and purpose you have. Expressing it IS the key to your happiness and fulfillment.

7 Ways To Crush Your Comfort Zone

The great philosopher and lifestyle coach T. Harv Ecker said, “Nobody ever died of discomfort, yet living in the name of comfort has killed more ideas, more opportunities, more actions, and more growth than everything else combined. Comfort kills!”

And none other than the famous American inventor Thomas Edison stated, “We shall have no better conditions in the future if we are satisfied with all those which we have at present.”

Why is stepping outside of your comfort zone so important for achieving everything you want in life, and why is it so hard?

CRUSH (4) The level of risk in your life directly relates to your possible rewards, but human beings are actually hard-wired for comfort and low risk. Your comfort zone is defined as “a behavioral space where your activities and behaviors fit a routine and pattern that minimizes stress and risk.” But way back in 1908, psychologists John D. Dodson and Robert M. Yerkes noticed that relative comfort caps performance levels, with optimal performance and rewards only attained just outside of someone’s comfort zone.

Here 7 ways to crush your comfort zone:

1) Understand the Parameters of Your Personal Comfort Zone

Define the shape and size of your comfort zone, and then aim for taking action just outside. Your brain is supercharged when it is presented with situations it has not encountered before, or realities which it finds risky and new. This is where wonderful thoughts and ideas can be harnessed to put you on a direct path with your desired destiny.

2) Realize That Existing in Your Comfort Zone is Holding You Back

Countless scientific studies have shown that simply being content with current comfort slows down your brain wave activity, and actually will make you less aware of potentially life-changing positive opportunities. Mild discomfort causes action on your part, as your brain becomes more active and you begin to become more aware of your surroundings.

3) Never Be Scared to Make a Fool of Yourself

We much too often worry about what other people think. You want to know a big secret that few human beings ever comprehend? Only a very few people care about how you look, and whether you stumble or succeed. And the few friends and family members who do care about your well-being will always support you when you falter.

Think about the most magnetic and lovable individuals you have encountered. Almost certainly they were not meek, quiet people. Acting crazy and foolish from time to time could get you one step closer to those things that you desire the most.

AND again most people are not looking that closely anyway.

4) Face Your Fears

Everyone has had huge fears in their lives, but it is usually those tiny and subtle fears that keep you from achieving on a day-to-day basis. Just like the fear of making a fool of yourself, you may be scared of alienating friends and family, or you may stay inside because you are fearful that you could get stuck out in the rain.

Is it really worth worrying about circumstances and fears which have not even evidenced themselves? Work on conquering your small fears, and you will find yourself gaining confidence to battle and overcome your biggest fears.

5) Live in the “Now” Moments Life Offers

Planning is great, and is certainly required for any true success. But over-planning can sometimes keep you from living in the present moment. Embrace what is going on around you, keeping your eyes open for beauty, inspiration and challenges.

By living in the “Now” you spontaneously get your conscious brain working to adapting and enjoying events and circumstances that are presently unfolding, and are sometimes out of your control. Appreciate the present, because the past is gone, and your future is not guaranteed.

6) Ask Yourself, “What’s the worst that can happen?”

And then answer yourself, being extremely honest. Human beings have taken control of the planet because of incredible survival instincts. One of those instincts is to avoid risk. Because of this, our brain often gets us to imagine that potential negative results from our actions are going to be cataclysmic.

But really, what is the worst that can happen if you fail at an endeavor? You should instead ask yourself what is the best that can happen if you step outside of your comfort zone.

 7) Stop Comparing Yourself to Others

There are billions of people alive at this very moment. To even consider comparing yourself to anyone else, or to the achievements they have made, is incredibly limiting. You are a unique individual that is capable of incredible things. And when you stop comparing yourself to others, and begin to move outside of your comfort zone, you will be amazed at what you find is possible after you rid yourself of pointless and self-limiting comparisons.
