Are you running Facebook ads in the Ad Manager or ‘boosting’ your posts? If so, you’ll want to read this post and consider using the Power Editor from here on out. The Power Editor is a tool created by Facebook that you can access through Chrome only. It helps you manage your ads much more effectively.

placement

Here are three reasons you should be using it:

#1 Placement – You can decide where you want your ads to show up. Most eyes are on the news feed so that is where you want your ad to be. The right side bar is just not getting the proper attention these days. When you set up your ad in the Power Editor you get to select where you want your ads to show up.

boost #2 Targeting – You can target MUCH better with the Power Editor. When you boost a post you are not going to be able to get as specific as you should. Inside the Power Editor you will be able to target by location, gender, age, and most importantly precise interests.

You can even create custom audiences. Custom audience is a very cool tool that allows you to import contacts you already have either offline or wherever. All you need is an email, phone number, Facebook user IDs or mobile advertiser IDs. This tool will help you get super targeted. When you are target you will reach the right people. Reaching the right people means more money for you!

#3 Optimized CPM and Conversion Specs – This is a really cool trick that I learned from Jon Loomer (check his stuff out – it’s GREAT). Optimized CPM basically allows you to set a goal and then Facebook automatically optimizes the campaign to deliver based on your goals (read more here). You can specific your goal using a conversion spec. You can optimize your campaign for ‘likes’, ‘number of app installs’ , ‘number of RSVPs’, etc. Learn more here. I used it to optimize ‘likes’ and saw a much higher CTR.

So there you have it. Three reasons why it’s better to use the Power Editor. Let me know if you are using it or will give it a try!
